The healing potential of Shadow Constellations
Family Constellations was developed by Bert Hellinger in a group setting. Soon however, therapists, facilitators and other professionals discovered the immense potential for one-to-one work.
Using various physical objects to stand for people, self-parts, archetypes and other entities, constellation work entered the clinic and opened new horizons for Intergenerational Healing.
Combining the healing potential of both Family Constellations and Shadow Work leads to new ways of working with clients in the clinic.
On the psychological level, it allows us to identify and work with transference relationships, projective identification and projections from a broad, yet specific perspective, enabling therapists to avoid or address pitfalls differently.
On a more general professional level, it allows us to develop greater empathy and to help turn empathic failures into breakthroughs.
On an emotional level, Shadow Constellations allows us to better understand our hidden dynamics with clients; what triggers them in life and us in the clinic. It helps us to address and touch places in the body which are full of shame and disgust.
On an intergenerational level, it allows us to reach the sometimes forgotten sources of the Shadow, and of our clients’ suffering in general.
